The HCMUD18 Board of Directors has approved the tax rate for the 2024 tax year is set at $0.310000 per $100 of value, down from last year’s rate of $0.321770. This reflects a decrease of $0.01177 per $100 of value, or -3.66%. For the average residence homestead, the appraised value has increased from $304,916 to $326,019, leading to a slight increase in the average tax amount from $981.13 to $1,010.66, representing a 3.01% increase.
It’s important to note that if an adopted tax rate results in an increase of more than 3.5% on the average residence homestead, an election must be held to approve the rate under Section 49.23602 of the Water Code.

HC MUD 18 has completed the Lead & Copper Inventory as required by the EPA. Through records research and field investigation of the distribution system, it has been determined that the system has no lead service lines or galvanized requiring replacement service lines.
